A Trend?

Last week I was talking about a possible trend of whether or not weekends had the least amount of sessions compared to other days of the week. The lowest session from last week was on October 29th with 480 sessions. This date fell on a Saturday. The second lowest was on October 23rd with 621 sessions. This date fell on a Sunday. The lowest of all the week days was on October 28th with 698 sessions. This date fell on a Friday, the day that starts the weekend.

So as you can see, yes, there does seem to be a trend in weekends having the smallest amount of sessions. The other four days of the week did not show a simulation. Last week the highest amount of sessions was on a Tuesday with 825 sessions, where as this week, it was on a Thursday (October 27th) with 887 sessions. Interestingly enough, this week’s Tuesday (October 25th) had 860 sessions, which is still higher than last week’s 825 sessions. This week did a lot better than last week. I put the images of both this week and last week below in order to show the contrast in sessions.

A Possible Trend

The image above represents the total amount of sessions from October 16th to October 22nd. The sessions were at its lowest on the 22nd (a Saturday) with a total amount of 536 sessions. The second lowest was October 16th (a Sunday) at 577 while the third lowest was the 21st(Friday) with 615 sessions. The highest amount of sessions was on the 18th (a Tuesday) with 825 sessions and the second highest amount was the 17th (a Monday) with 818 sessions.

Something I paid attention to with this week’s data are the days of the week that were highest and the lowest. The two lowest days were Saturday and Sunday, while the two highest days were Monday and Tuesday. Based on this, I feel that Ash.org will get the least amount of sessions on weekends, then the other days of the week in general. This would make sense because on the weekend people are doing activates, going out with friends, partying, and other activates. To further support my theory, the weekday with the lowest amount of sessions was Friday. This supports my theory because Friday night is what starts the weekend, so Ash.org would get less sessions on Fridays, then other week days. Next week we will see if the trend continues.

Exam Attempt

Well, I took my exam for the second time this week. I did not pass. This was not surprising because I did not study as much as I should have. With school and other classes, it is so easy to fall behind on work. However, in life we are always going to be busy and it is important to improve at managing time.

What I will be doing from now on is forcing myself to wake up earlier. This will give me more time to in the day to study. A big problem I had this year was sleeping in too late, therefore losing a lot of hours in the day. By getting up earlier, I will be able to get more accomplished including studying for my analytics exam. From this experience, I learned discipline, in this case discipline in time management and waking up early. From now on, this will have to be me.

Total Session Report

The image above represents the number of new sessions on what % of those are new sessions. Unsurprisingly, google/organic searches have the most sessions. In facts a 12,142 difference between google/organic searches versus the second place session (direct)/(none). After that, there are not many sessions in each category such as bing/organic has 314 sessions, then yahoo/organic searches 111.

The image above represents the total amount of sessions for this past month. The highest amount of total sessions was on Monday, October 18th with 818 sessions. The second highest amount of sessions was on October 11th with 802 sessions. The lowest amount of sessions was on October 1st with 408 sessions.

MOM and YOY Report

For this report I will be doing the top landing pages for ASH. The image above represent the top half that reports for the September 2016 compared to August 2016. The page that had the most views in both comparisons was the statistics and facts about tobacco (aside from the home page). This is not surprising because it is less involved. Fighting against tobacco is a lot more involved than just simply reading the facts. Looking at the total landing page went from 11,063 views to 9,874 views.

This image is for the top half of the year to year ratio for September. 2016 has been a better year than 2015. Like the month the month comparison. The first place was the people going to the statistics page (aside from the home page). The home page went from 2,482 views to 11,063 views. Both the MOM and YOY reports suggest that this page has really been making progress.
